How Sahi Nirnay decides what to show you
You are about to make one of the biggest decisions of your child's life. You deserve to know exactly how this website arrived at its suggestions. Nothing below is hidden from you.
Where the facts come from
Course structures, skill subjects and learning outcomes come from the national school and vocational curriculum. Qualification levels follow the national skills framework. Scholarship rules, exam dates and eligibility come from the official government portals. Every figure carries the date we last checked it.
How we work out what suits your child
The questionnaire scores twelve plain areas of interest and strength — working with your hands, working out problems, helping people, and so on. Those scores are matched against the areas of work that need them. It is arithmetic you could do on paper, and we show you the sum.
How answered, by area
- Working with hands and tools
- Working out problems
- Making and designing
- Helping and working with people
- Organising and keeping things in order
- Talking, selling and leading
- Working with plants, animals and land
- Computers and technology
- Looking after people's health and wellbeing
- Working with numbers and money
- Reading, writing and speaking
- Movement, sport and physical work
How we work out what you can afford
We compare the full cost of each route against the yearly budget you told us about, add the scholarships your family is eligible for, and check whether the course even exists within the distance your child could travel. A course you cannot reach is not an option, however good it is.
Why this path appeared
| Interest match | 35% |
|---|---|
| Affordability | 25% |
| Eligibility | 20% |
| Available near you | 12% |
| Time until earning | 8% |
These weights are read directly from the engine, so this page and the running code cannot drift apart. Interest carries the most weight but deliberately not a majority: a perfect match your family cannot afford or reach is not advice.
Where artificial intelligence is used
Only to put already-calculated results into simpler words, and only if you allow it. It is never allowed to invent a fee, an eligibility rule, a salary or a deadline. Those come from the data above, every time. You can switch it off in your account settings and nothing factual will change.
What we will not do
We will not take money from a college to rank it higher. We will not show advertisements to children or on any page about your child. We will not sell your family's information. We will not put government scholarship information behind a payment. And we will not tell you that a course guarantees a job, because no course does.
What we get wrong
Fees change mid-year. Colleges close. A district gets a new ITI and we have not added it yet. Our earnings ranges are wide because real pay varies enormously. If you find something wrong, tell us — there is a "this looks wrong" link on every page that carries a fact.
